EDUCATIONAL information Web sites - where to get an education in scientific illustration, where to get a degree in medical illustration, etc.
There are six universities in north america which offer a masters degree in medical illustration; there are not many more schools to choose between if you are looking for a certificate in scientific illustration. If you are interested in taking classes to round out your knowledge, you can find classes in specialized areas of scientific illustration in most cities. Also, GNSI and the AMI offer great workshops.
Report: Becoming a Scientific or Medical Illustrator. I've gotten some great feedback on the report: “Thank you very much for the advice in your report, the best one I found about scientific illustration.”

Scientific illustration certificate programs
There are several schools that offer certificates in scientific illustration. They’re not all the same, so do some investigation. Find out what you’ll learn, and what kinds of jobs their graduates have, and how long it took them to get those jobs. Some of the schools have better track records than others.
1. The best one seems to be the graduate certificate program in Science Illustration at Santa Cruz, CA. http://scicom.ucsc.edu/illus/grad.html
After UC Santa Cruz, there are a lot of certificate programs in natural science illustration at universities and colleges, and there are a lot of certificate programs in botanical illustration at arboretums. If I have not listed a program in your area, call your local botanical garden and university. (And let me know.)
