Anatomy Illustration - commercial art

Anatomic illustration is a medical endeavor as well as an artistic one. In order to properly portray anatomy, the artist must understand, through background or research, the underlying anatomic principles and organization, as well as the information which the client wishes to portray. The artist must also have a grasp of the rendering techniques and the artistic principles of form, color and composition.

Are you a scientist or publisher seeking scientific illustrations? Or an author or publisher of children's books?

The illustrations on the right are from the book "Weight Lifting for Absolute Beginners." I had the pleasure of illustrating the cover art, doing the page layout, and illustrating the entire book

On the right is a pediatric pain diagram I created for the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, University of Washing, 2003. (Roll over the image)
